CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's basketball team recorded 27 steals in an 83-40 non-conference victory over Concordia College Monday night in the George R. Newman Center. The Cougars improve to 4-1 overall with the win, while the Clippers remain winless at 0-6.

A 14-0 run early in the first half that was punctuated by a pair of threes from freshman guard Kirsty Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England/Cheshire Acad.) put the Cougars ahead 30-9 with 10 minutes to play in the half. Another Leedham three-pointer capped a 12-0 spree that resulted in a 42-13 advantage three minutes before halftime. Caldwell turned up the defensive pressure, forcing 26 Clippers' turnovers in the first half en route to a 46-19 halftime lead. Concordia never reduced the Cougars' lead throughout the second half, as Caldwell held Concordia to 30.4 percent shooting from the field in the second half and 29.3 percent for the game.

Junior forward Mackenzie Lynch (Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic) led all scorers with 20 points to go with eight rebounds and four steals. Freshman guard Abena George (Elmont, NY/Elmont Memorial), pictured, sparked the defense with a career-best six steals.
