OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team dropped a non-conference match at N.Y.I.T., 2-0 Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Cougars fall to 4-4 on the season, while the Bears improve to 1-6.
After a scoreless first half, Katherine Hicks scored on a cross from Cathy Gironda in the 48th minute to take a 1-0 lead. A little over three minutes later, Stephania Santoli placed a shot over Cougars goalkeeper Richelle Morse (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley), pictured, from 20 yards out.
Morse finished the game with four saves for Caldwell, while Bears' goalkeeper Jenna Ament did not record a save.
Next up for the Cougars is a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game at Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday, Sept. 23. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Wilmington, Del.
