BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. - Pace University handed the Caldwell College women's soccer team its second straight defeat, as the Cougars lost 5-0 in the second game of the Pace University Tournament Saturday afternoon. Caldwell, which was kept off the scoreboard for the tournament, dropped to 0-2 on the year, while the Setters improved to 2-0.
Pace's Kelly Fazio scored the only goal of the first half off a corner kick in the 23rd minute to give the Setters a 1-0 lead. Five minutes into the second half, Kimberly Ludewig converted a penalty kick to go up 2-0. Pace went on to score three goals in a span of 6:22 to cruise to their second 5-0 victory of the season. Allison Levine tallied twice in the second half to give her three goals on the season.
Senior goalkeeper Richelle Morse (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) followed up Friday's 11-save performance with a 10-save showing against the Setters. Jocelyne Durando made one save for Pace.
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 5, when they host Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference foe Nyack College in the Cougars' home opener. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
