COUGARS, EAGLES BATTLE TO SCORELESS DRAW IN WOMEN'S SOCCER

WATERBURY, Conn. - Senior goalkeeper Richelle Morse (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) made 14 saves as the Caldwell College women's soccer team tied with Post University, 0-0 in the Cougars' final Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match of the season Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field. The draw officially eliminates Caldwell from the postseason, as the Cougars (7-10-1 overall, 4-5-1 CACC) needed a win to remain in contention. The Eagles are now 8-6-3 on the season and 6-2-1 in the conference.

Morse faced 34 shots in the 110 minutes of play, including 19 in the first half alone. She made seven saves in the first half, four in the second and three saves during the two 10-minute overtime periods to record her third shutout of the season. The Cougars, who advanced to the semifinals of the CACC Tournament in each of the past two years, will miss the conference tournament for the first time since 2003.

Caldwell closes out the 2006 season with a non-conference game at Dowling College on Friday, Oct. 20. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. in Oakdale, N.Y.
