ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team lost a non-conference match at Molloy College Monday afternoon at Darcy Field. The Cougars fall to 7-10 on the season with the loss, while the Lions capture their school-record 12th win of the season to improve to 12-4.
Molloy scored four goals in the first 26 minutes of the game, including two goals in the first 2:27, to take a commanding 4-0 lead. The Cougars scored their only goal in the 36th minute, when a pass from senior defender Patty Clark (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) sent junior forward Brook Delucca (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) on a breakaway. Delucca, pictured, beat Lions' goalkeeper Paula Sanelli for her fourth of the season. Molloy added another goal before half, then scored three times in the second as the Cougars dropped their first game in three contests.
Junior Jennifer Ferreira (Colonia, NJ/Colonia) made her first career start in goal for Caldwell, recording seven saves. Sanelli and Nancy McGowan combined to make four saves for the Lions.
The Cougars complete their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 18 with a game at Post University. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.
