CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon at the George R. Newman Center. The Cougars, which lost 30-16, 30-17, 30-25, played in their final home match of their inaugural season, falling to 0-15 overall and 0-14 in the conference. The Rams are now 18-2 on the season, including a 11-1 mark in the CACC.
Senior Amy Ransom (Chattanooga, TN/Notre Dame) led Caldwell with seven kills and also had 12 digs in her last match in the Newman Center. Ransom has tallied a team-best 87 kills this season, her first competitive season since high school. Sophomore Laura Ciesla (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) recorded 11 assists and 10 digs, while sophomore Laura DeVico (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) had a team-high 18 digs. Emily Krauss and Celena Rendon each had 14 kills to pace the Rams, who also received 38 assists from setter Kristin Goede.
The Continue their schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 18 with a CACC match at Post University. The first serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.
