COUGARS LOSE TO ST. MICHAEL'S 3-0 IN WOMEN'S SOCCER

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to host St. Michael's College at the St. Michael's Tournament Sunday afternoon. The Cougars finished the weekend 0-2, while the Purple Knights improved to 1-2.

 

Kelly Ruch opened the scoring for St. Michael's with a goal in the 15th minute off of a deflection. Judy Cronin was given credit for a goal in the 23rd minute after her shot bounced off a Cougar defender and went in the goal. The Purple Knights finished the scoring with Meagan Pokorny's tally in the 72nd minute.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Annie LaForge (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) made five saves for Caldwell, while Molly Cole stopped four shots to earn the shutout for St. Michael's.

 

The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 7, when they host Bloomfield College to open their home schedule. The Cougars have an eight-game unbeaten streak at Caldwell Field, with a record of 7-0-1 at home last season.
