CALDWELL, N.J. - Freshman midfielder Samantha Rinks (Corinth, TX/Billy Ryan), pictured, scored three first-half goals as the Caldwell College women's soccer team defeated Concordia College, 7-0 in a non-conference match Thursday afternoon at Caldwell Field. The victory gives the Cougars an overall record of 4-3-1 on the season, while the Clippers fall to 0-2.

Rinks scored the only goal Caldwell would need in the 10th minute, when she took a pass from junior midfielder Victoria Aguilera (Merida, Venezuela/Saucon Valley) on the left flank and blasted a shot into the lower right corner of the goal. Freshman forward Kim Fenton (Galloway Twp., NJ/Absegami) tallied her first collegiate goal in the 33rd minute, followed just 22 seconds later by Rinks' second goal off another pass from Aguilera. Rinks completed her hat trick in the 43rd minute, finishing a through pass from junior defender Patty Clark (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) to put the Cougars up 4-0 at the half.

Aguilera made the score 5-0 just three minutes into the second half with her third goal of the season. Sophomore forward Brook Delucca (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) extended her points streak to six games when she scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 51st minute. Junior defender Marcy Reda (Phillipsburg, NJ/Bethlehem Academy) completed the scoring in the 60th minute with her first career goal.

Caldwell's goalkeepers Annie LaForge (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) and Jen Borden (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) each played a half in goal and were not required to make a save.

The Cougars return to action on Saturday, Sept. 24, when they host Wilmington College as the first game of a double header with the Cougar men's soccer team. The women's game begins at 12:00 p.m., with the men's game to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
