WILMINGTON, Del. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team lost in overtime to Goldey-Beacom College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon. The loss dropped the Cougars to 6-4-1 overall and 4-2 in teh CACC, snapping a six-game unbeaten streak. The Lightning improved to 2-10 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
Goldey-Beacom scored a first-half goal to take a 1-0 lead. The Cougars would tie the game midway through the second half when sophomore forward Brook Delucca (Nutley, NJ/Nutley), pictured, finished a cross from junior defender Patty Clark (North Arlington, NJ/North Arlington) for her team-leading ninth goal of the season. With neither team able to score during regulation, the game went into overtime. Nine minutes into the game, the Lightning scored the game-winner to earn Goldey-Beacom's first CACC victory.
The Cougars host Post University on Wednesday, Oct. 5 in a CACC match beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
