WOMEN'S CAGERS FALL AT HOLY FAMILY, 85-62

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Caldwell College dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game to Holy Family University, 85-62 Thursday night at the Campus Center. The Cougars, who have lost four of their last five games, are now 5-10 overall and 4-6 in the conference, while the Lady Tigers remained unbeaten in the CACC with a perfect 10-0 record (11-4 overall).

Caldwell led early in the first half after a three-pointer by sophomore guard Jenn Murray (Jackson, NJ/Jackson) made it 5-4 at the 17:37 mark. But the Lady Tigers would hold the lead for the remainder of the game, as they led by as many as 14 in the first half Holy Family's Ashley Dunek tallied 18 points in the game's first 20 minutes on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor to help give her team a 40-26 advantage at the half.

The Lady Tigers used 54.5 percent shooting from the field in the second half to lead by as many as 27 points. Jamie Battinieri scored 10 of her 16 points after halftime as Holy Family cruised to its sixth straight victory. 

Sophomore guard Amy Ransom (Chattanooga, TN/Notre Dame), pictured, who has scored 53 points in her last four games, went 7-of-11 from the floor en route to a team-high 17 points. Sophomore guard Shannon Coyle (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) had 11 points and freshman forward Dana Leary (Bridgewater, NJ/Immaculata) tallied 10 points, six rebounds and a career-best six assists. Dunek finished with 24 points and eight boards for the Tigers, while Kelly Killion had 12 assists to go with eight points.

The Cougars return to action on Saturday, Jan. 22, when they host Wilmington College at 3:00 p.m. at the Newman Center.
