COUGARS END REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS AT MOLLOY

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team closed out its regular season schedule with a 3-0 loss at Molloy College on Thursday afternoon. Despite the defeat that snapped a five-game winning streak, the Cougars' overall record of 10-7-1 is the best mark in eight seasons of women's soccer at Caldwell. Molloy improves to 5-12-2 on the season with the victory.

 

Molloy's Caitlin McGinn led the Lions with a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the 20th minute, while Colleen Norcott had a goal and an assist. Lions' goalkeeper Melissa McCarthy recorded six saves to earn her second consecutive shutout. Junior goalkeeper Richelle Morse (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) made five saves in 65 minutes of work, and freshman Jen Borden (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) finished up with two saves for the Cougars.

 

With the regular season now behind them, the Cougars are preparing for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament. Caldwell, the third seed after compiling a conference record of 8-2, will host a first round match on Monday, Nov. 1, at 2:00 p.m. against the sixth seed, which has yet to be determined.
