WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO QUEENS COLLEGE, 4-1

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision to Queens College in a non-conference game Monday afternoon. The Cougars are now 5-6-1 on the season, while the Knights improve to 5-2-2.

During the first half in which Queens had a 17-7 edge in shots, the Knights got on the scoreboard just before halftime when Kaitlin Purcell scored off a free kick with under a minute to play in the first period. Caldwell answered six minutes, 44 seconds after the break when freshman Carla Bleiler (Egg Harbor, NJ/Absegami) notched her team-leading fifth goal of the season off a Cougar free kick.

Less than three minutes later, Christine Lettieri scored the eventual game-winner from 25 yards out. Jessica Schaco, who assisted on Lettieri's goal, tallied a goal of her own 2:24 later, and Cheryl Meany added another insurance goal in the 71st minute to clinch the win for the Knights.

Junior goalkeeper Richelle Morse (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) made 16 saves for Caldwell, while Lauren Usewicz made 10 saves for Queens.

The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 13, when they play at Felician in an important Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
