CALDWELL DROPS REGULAR-SEASON GAME TO SETON HALL IN WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's basketball team was defeated by Seton Hall University, 93-44 in a non-conference game Monday evening at Walsh Gym. The meeting marked the first regular-season game against a Division I opponent for the Cougars, who fall to 0-2 on the season. The Pirates improve to 2-0 with the win.

Seton Hall took control early in the first half with a 16-2 run to open the game. The lead grew to 22 points after a pair of free throws by Ashley Booker put the Pirates up 30-8 with 6:27 left in the first half. Caldwell finished the half strong, using six points from senior forward Mackenzie Lynch (Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic) and four points from senior forward Janay Perkins (Bronx, NY/Walton) to outscore Seton Hall 17-12 the rest of the half to make the score 42-25 at the break. Sloppy play plagued both squads, as the teams turned the ball over 14 times each in the first half.

The Pirates put the game out of reach with a 23-2 run that made the score 69-31 with 10:30 remaining in the game. Kandice Green led the run with seven points, as the Pirates shot 63.3 percent in the second half to cruise to the win. Lynch finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double in as many games this season. Freshman guard Kaitlyn Lambert (Cumberland, RI/Cumberland) also had 10 points to go with five rebounds for Caldwell. Green led all players with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Nicole Emery had 16 points and seven boards.

Caldwell travels to Florida for a pair of games, beginning with a match-up with Lynn University on Sunday, Nov. 23. The tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Boca Raton, Fla.
