Manny Perez was Caldwell's first all-region men's basketball player in the NCAA Division II era. Perez, who played from 2004-2009 after missing most of the 2005-06 season with an injury, ranks second all-time at Caldwell with 1,859 career points and was a four-time all-CACC selection. As a senior he averaged 18.8 ppg and 7.8 rpg, earning an invitation to compete in the prestigious NABC/NCAA Division II All-Star Game. He was voted the 2005 CACC Newcomer of the year, eclipsing the 1000 point mark in his second season.
